Learning to cook at 30!!

My name is Valerie. I have been married for 10 years to The Hubs and we have three beautiful girls. I am a normal stay at home mom trying to balance shuttling the girls to school, dance, and ice skating all while keeping us all healthy and clean. A few years back, the Hubs and I had our annual “How is our Marriage Going and Where are We Headed” talk. Most of this discussion was normal; I hate my job, he wants to buy a house, I want to move, he wants to get more toys, I want another baby, etc… Then I innocently ask, “Is there anything you want me to work on?” and I get a “your cooking” back. I was shocked! What on earth is wrong with my cooking?? Sure it is simple and nothing fancy but we are all feed and healthy. “Your food is usually bland,” he said. He might as well said, “those jeans DO make you look fat”!! Oh, the outrage!! But after some thought and I had swallowed my pride, I had a horrible realization: I am 30 years old and I don’t know how to cook. Oh sure, I can make passable meals that a 7 and 5-year-old wouldn’t complain about but when it came down to it, I really don’t know how to cook up meals.

Horrified, I called in for reinforcements! Thankfully my friends and family came through sending me recipes, tips, and websites to help me out. So I decided to start this blog to document my ADVENTURES IN LEARNING TO COOK AT 30!

Here we go!!!!
